Key individual contributor responsible for supporting all tool building activities and customer molding (sample) trials. Must develop and maintain internal systems/organization to meet build and sample schedules to ensure product launch goes smoothly.


-Coordinate receipt of customer-supplied tools, and proper cataloging/identification

-Coordinate customer molding trials (inherited and new tooling programs)

-Participate in mold building and repairing quotes

-Submit periodic progress reports to customers as needed

-ERP SYSTEM access and update to ensure all jobs completed on time

-Order all raw materials for tool building and Tool Room equipment, maintain inventory

-Develop and maintain tool history documentation

-Coordinate outside tooling services (hardening, micro-welding, etc.)

-Maintain tool list and assign all mold numbers

-Provide Purchase Orders and Mold Specification Sheets to outside tool vendors

-Ensure Tool Room Preventive Maintenance properly conducted

-Coordinate all sample runs with molding department (tool availability, material, machine)

-Key interface with molding and secondary departments for tooling/fixture issues

-Oversee mold repairs and mold servicing for molding department

-Proper documentation for all activities (sample request forms, etc.)

-Participate in corrective / preventive action reviews

-Participate in daily production/quality planning meetings


-Minimum of five years injection molding tooling experience (design and build)

-Experience in a highly participative environment involving continuous process improvement

-Strong commitment to quality, productivity and team performance in the workplace

-Excellent teamwork, organization and communication skills
