Tooling Engineer NJ 60 - 90k (J#26498)
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 4 - 9 years

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Tooling Engineer from DFM part to process-defined, high-volume
production. Will also lead, mentor, and develop a young team of engineers. As a contract manufacturer
we typically receive finished part drawings and only provide suggested changes to our clients relative to
material alternatives and design considerations for manufacturability via injection molding in plastic,
Metal Injection Molding (MIM), or Ceramic Injection Molding (CIM).

Coordinate all inter- and intra-departmental activities for the Engineering department including but not
limited to:
Provide Engineering support for PTI production operations
Accept responsibility for all PTI program, project timelines and engineering tasks
Interface with Maintenance, Quality, Tool shop, Administration, and Production departments
Provide Contracts dept engineering timely and accurate information supportive of quotes and proposals
for clients
Ensure Engineering department's compliance with PTI Internal Quality systems and ISO 9001:2008 and
AS9100C Quality Management Systems (QMS) procedures. Participate in semi-annual audits and annual
3rd party certifications audit
Identify and institute ways to improve manufacturing operations through Lean techniques, automation or
other means
Tool design, construction, Prototyping of tools & recommendations for design modifications
Interact with clients relative to technical items for their programs. Create program-specific IQ/OQ/PQs
Indentify and engage subcontractors for outside operations as needed
Cooling, Machining, Sintering fixture design & construction
Interface with Quality Control relative to Inspection and compliance with customer needs

B.S. Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing), Plastics, Metallurgy or Material Science.
Minimum 5 years hands-on experience engineering injection molded plastic & metal components for the
medical device, aerospace or defense industries and 3+ years experience in as project engineer.
Very strong project / program and organizational skills
CAD experience (preferably Solid works) and/or Mold flow pr Sigma Soft
Problem solving ability (i.e. project time-line issues, failure analysis, "out-of-control" process cause-and-
corrective action)
Intra- and inter-department communication, leadership and employee development
Reporting, project timeline projection, resource tracking (plan vs. actual)
Injection molding background and experience (tooling, processing, etc) a must. Preferably with High-
temperature, engineered resins like PEEK, RADEL, Ultem
Metal Injection Molding processing (Debind and sintering) knowledge a plus
