Job Description
The Tool Room Machinist II is on 3rd shift: Sunday through Thursday 11pm to 7am. Our Norfolk, Nebraska facility manufactures a diverse line of Class I and Class II, sterile and non-sterile devices as well as components.

Position Summary

Clean, repair, and maintain molds and mold components. Plan, layout, set-up, and operate tool room machines to mill, grind, , hone, and/or polish a variety of machine parts, tools, mold parts, fixtures, etc., to precision tolerance/finish.

Dedicated to safety, responsible for using protective equipment, and follows good manufacturing and housekeeping practices.

Accepts responsibility for completing all required paperwork and documentation accurately and neatly.

Able to utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and to operate network-based computer systems.

Ability to understand and accept instruction.

Mold Repair Skills

Ability to safely disassemble and reassemble injection mold assemblies with some supervision.

Ability to independently troubleshoot mold piece part defects and make injection mold modifications as needed.

Operates and understands metal working hand tools, various shop and precision measuring equipment.

Understands precision fits, finishes, and tolerances.

Has an ability to read and understand component blueprints.

Machining Skills

Able to repair or fabricate high precision mold and automation components

Has experience with the set-up and use of machine tools including mills, lathes, and grinders.

Ability to set up and safely operate machine tools with a basic understanding of CNC.

Has an ability to fabricate quality component parts from blueprints, as well as oral instruction with some supervision.

Ability to set up and operate welding equipment

The work environment is a production setting. This setting is noisy and may require hearing protection. Smocks, hairnets, and if necessary, beard covers must be worn in some manufacturing areas. Earrings must be completely covered by the hairnet. Overtime is a job requirement. Reports to Tool Room Supervisor/Lead and receives work direction from Tool Room Lead Person.


Education and/or Experience: Two-year trade school graduate, with an applicable technical degree or certification preferred. Minimum of five years of verifiable experience in a machine shop environment preferred.
