Technical Supervisor SC Open (J#22339)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Supervises production staff and equipment ensuring that production goals and quality standards are met. Interfaces with all levels of the organization from production to management. This is a hands on position responsible for all aspects of production. Must be a self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to function well in a team environment.

Under the direction of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for coordinating the activities of all operators. This position is also responsible for maintaining all operable molding conditions.

Skill sets needed for this position should include excellent technical abilities, supervisory skills, and excellent communication skills. Establishes work procedures to meet all production schedules, while utilizing knowledge of personnel, products, capabilities of machines and equipment as well as maintaining an atmosphere conducive to good employee morale.

Maintains all necessary production and personnel records in order to produce in the most cost- effective manner.

Coordinates with management with respect to planning and lay out work areas, assignments, instructions, directing and assisting fellow supervisors and employees. Should actively assist maintenance and molding process-engineering personnel to promote maximum capacity.

Knowledge of all materials essential in order to effectively understand, the process control as it is related to our molding process. Understanding mold flow cooling, temperature variances, and equipment set points essential in producing quality products.

Ability to effectively train new and existing personnel in regards to the molding processing aspect of the manufacturing operations through knowledge with-in, and to teach others methods which will result in increased production efficiency and will decrease departmental labor hours.

Detects and reports improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, quality deviations, employee problems and unusual conditions to the department manager. Suggests more cost effective ways to efficiently produce current products.

Practices and promotes safe work procedures, and implements good housekeeping practices. Maintains working areas in a clean and orderly condition. Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and conforms to all OSHA rules and regulations.

Must be able to operate a forklift after being tested and certified with in.

Quality Responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of quality on respective shift.

Education and/or Experience: Four year degree desired but will consider anyone with five or more years injection molding manufacturing experience or equivalent education and experience.

Skills: Basic computer skills, familiarity with Microsoft Office a plus.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, shovel, climb ladders and stairs, work inside and outside, regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds.

Performs all other duties related or unrelated to the job as directed.
