Supply Chain Manager AZ 85 - 95k (J#26736)

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the selection, performance, delivery, and quality of the facilitys suppliers. The Supply Chain Manager must ensure that Operations has the proper materials and components for production when needed while minimizing working capital. The Supply Chain Manager will ensure suppliers meet quality and delivery expectations while adhering to Company standards and industry best practices. This position will oversee procurement, receiving, scheduling, material handling, and shipping functions. Key performance metrics include on-time delivery, supplier quality, inventory days on hand, and inventory accuracy.

SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
Supplier Development
Develop and maintain long-term supplier relationships that will provide the Company with competitive advantages including lowest total cost, highest quality products, and superior customer service. Negotiate material pricing and/or service agreements that meet corporate cost objectives, and that collectively drive year over year savings.
Send RFQ packages to supply candidates with clear requirements and expectations.
Maintain supplier specifications and manage product changes with the supplier.
Initiate and maintain supply agreement contracts which detail the performance and product expectations along with contract requirements if the expectations are not met. Review with Company corporate counsel as necessary.
Ensure supply base maintains proper quality requirements including process control and adherence to quality plan.
Oversee supplier process validations according to quality requirements.
Communicate Company specification changes with the supplier and coordinate re-validation activities according to quality requirements.
Coordinate material resource planning and provide forecasts to suppliers for capacity planning.
Help lead strategy teams in identifying and developing a World Class Supply Base that will support Companys Sales, Operations and Manufacturing Strategies, and New Program Requirements.
Maintain materials schedule alignment to product development timelines to ensure reduced time to market with new products.
Develop, manage and monitor internal and external supply chain metrics.
Supplier Performance
Issue supply orders in advance of lead time for all components. Ensure supplier communicates order confirmation for delivery date.
Implement accountability for supply chain if orders are not delivered on-time. Work with Operations to identify risk of material shortages and develop contingency plans accordingly.
Implement accountability for component quality. Work with Quality to identify risk of non-conforming material and develop contingency plans accordingly.
Ensure supply base communicates any process changes well in advance to allow time for re-validation activities.
Work with Sales & Customer Service representatives to establish and monitor daily/monthly/annual shipping & performance goals.
Inventory Management
Reduce Days on Hand inventory levels.
Work with supply base for consignment options or limited releases.
Develop vendor managed inventory where applicable.
Maintain appropriate inventory system to either control inventory based on order quantities or through a kanban pull system.
Ensure inventory accuracy and an organized location system for the warehouse. Manage ongoing cycle counting for verification.
Manage inventory with expiration date and shelf life considerations.
Direct the Scheduling and Purchasing functions to ensure adequate supply and proper flow of raw materials and supplies.
Ensure proper methods, procedures and reporting measures are used for activity functions.
Assists with month end manufacturing close process and annual physical inventory. Performs monthly reconciliation of MUV (material usage variance).
Transportation Management
Develop appropriate transportation strategies to minimize transportation cost while also limiting inventory value.
Maintain the appropriate supply agreements with transportation providers to ensure proper ownership of inventory during transit.
Manage upstream and downstream transportation to ensure proper delivery of products to the Company and finished goods delivery to customer locations.
Continuous Improvement
Work with supply base to continually reduce cost of goods. This can be in the form of supply leverage, purchasing volume or volume consolidation, and design improvements.
Improve supplier quality for risk of non-conforming material.
Reduce inventory levels.
Reduce the risk and occurrence of supply shortages for operations.
Improve material flow efficiencies within operations.
Improve inventory accuracy.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must be able to deal effectively and professionally with team members and peers.
Excellent external/internal customer service and presentation skills, and ability to effectively communicate to all levels in a customers organization.
Must be able to effectively lead a cross-function/departmental internal team.
Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment characterized by high growth while maintaining regular and consistent communication with the Plant Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

BS in related discipline such as Supply Chain Management, Business Management, or Engineering.5-10 years experience in Materials, Inventory Control, Purchasing, and/or Logistics Management. CPM / CPIM desired. APICS certification a plus
Prior contract manufacturing/assembly supply chain experience.
Medical device and/or Automotive Lean Manufacturing, Lean Culture experience
Proven leadership, motivation and coaching skills to develop self-directed teams.
Dependable self-starter with positive attitude.
Computer literate in Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Knowledge and understanding of all OSHA related requirements for safe warehouse and forklift operations.
Ability to travel up to 25%.
