Shift Supervisor CO Open (J#26744)

Summary of Position:

Provides process expertise, leadership, and responsible for manufacturing processes & operators on the floor for a given shift. This includes management of physical equipment, floor inventory, operator training, and productivity. This is an on the floor leadership role, Reports to the Manufacturing Manager, and works closely with the Production Coordinator to ensure quality product at maximum efficiency.

Essential Functions:

Working in conjuncture with the Production Coordinator ensure the manufacturing process has the necessary resources (staff, machines, material) to complete the jobs required for their given shift.
Must be able to lead individuals, and give direction to operators.
As jobs open or close, reassign operators as needed to ensure maximum productivity.
Works with the Quality team to address quality issues, and communicate quality alerts.
Communicates with the outgoing, and incoming shifts any pertinent information that could impact operations, machines, or parts.
Schedules breaks, and fills in for breaks as needed.
Train all new operators, and addresses any training/retraining issues as they arise. Must be able to read, understand, and communicate information in the Job Data Package (JDP).
Work closely maintenance and tool room to communicate equipment problems (broken tools, tool setup, possible tool downtime, etc.) and uses this information to adjust operations per the identified manufacturing priorities.
Must ensure operators are working in a safe manner, and all safety guidelines are followed.
Help keep work stations and the manufacturing floor clean, and organized.
Monitor operators paperwork to ensure its completed accurately and on time.
Open and close work orders, process shift reporting, and create labels as needed (these tasks are typically handled by the Production Coordinator).
Attend and contribute to daily shift meetings.
Escalate personnel and operations issues to the Manufacturing Manager when needed.

Other Functions:

In addition to the above job functions, additional requirements include:
Ability to work overtime (extended shifts, weekends, etc.) as required.
Consideration and respect when dealing with subordinates, peers, supervisors, customers, and suppliers.
Positive, proactive behavior in the execution of all job duties.
Proficient in oral and written communications.
Knowledge of Windows Office software.
Excellent multi tasking skills.

Physical Demands:

Able to lift 50 lbs.
Able to push 200 lbs.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
English literacy, and ability to write English legibly

Minimum Qualifications:
Prefer individual with a minimum of 3-5 years manufacturing leadership.
Associates degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.
Good knowledge of plastics/thixomolding theory, and basic molding practices.
Ability to work, and stay on the assigned shift
