FUNCTION

Growing automotive supplier is searching for a Director of Sales in Columbus, OH. The Director of Sales builds, leads and develops a team of Account Managers supporting and growing business relationships with large customers who have established buying relationships with the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Hire, train, and develop Account Managers.
Develop sales goals, territory plans, performance metrics to hit overall annual cash sales and profitability targets.
Conduct business with the highest standards of electrical behavior and in compliance with company rules and procedures.
Develop and nurture productive relationships within assigned accounts to maximize the flow of information, create and capitalize on new business opportunities, and maintain profitable business.
Develop outstanding cross-functional working relationships with company personnel at all levels.
Anticipate end of program events within assigned accounts and identify new business opportunities to replace lost business and grow revenue at the accounts targeted rates.
Worked to avoid commercial disputes. Resolve commercial issues that do develop, using a combination of fact-based analysis and skillful negotiation to achieve results favorable to the company.
Oversee the companys timely response to customer requests for quote (RFQs), including gathering of relevant information, working with estimators and plant personnel, scheduling and leading quote reviews, completing cost breakdown sheets (transparencies) and preparing quote letters.
Develop and negotiate long-term customer contracts that support business objectives and monitor company and customer obligations to ensure state commitments are met in a timely way.
Support new program launches by monitoring and actively participating in launch-related project planning team meetings and production trials, to ensure each launch achieves 100% on-time and first-time PPAP approval.

REQUIREMENTS

Four year degree from an accredited college in an engineering, science or business discipline; or equivalent work experience (at least 10 years relevant work with a concentration in manufacturing).
Minimum 5 years experience selling engineered products (manufactured products based on customer provided prints and specs) to OEMs with long (1 year) sales cycles.
Minimum 5 years experience leading sales teams selling engineered products, ideally within the automotive industry.
30-50% travel.
MS degree in an engineering, science or business discipline; or MBA degree preferred
Minimum eight years experience selling engineered products to multi-million, Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) accounts.
