Sales Engineer MA Open (J#26657)

We are seeking an experienced estimator to join our corporate quote team as a Technical Quoting Engineer to prepare cost estimates for our molding divisions. He/she will analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates, assess cost effectiveness of products and projects, and track actual costs relative to bids as the project develops. Will also consult with customers, vendors, manufacturing, and other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

Overall responsibilities include quotation review and the completion of new customer requests pertaining to close tolerance precision molding, post mold automated assemblies, and insert molding. Will work closely with all engineering disciplines including tooling, automation, and process engineering and provide support and technical assistance to the Engineering Manager and Sales/Field Representatives. Will also conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or effect cost reductions.


Some key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepares quote package for management approval and review by Engineering and Sales (i.e., calculating part volumes, designating material, reviewing insert prints with management and/or Stamping Engineer)
Coordinates engineering review meetings throughout the quotation process.
Reviews engineering concerns with the customer
Acts as scribe for the quotation process
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates based on Estimating Guidelines
Prepares bids, selects vendors or subcontractors, and determines cost effectiveness.
Insures that all quotation team members provide information on time
Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Assembles quote packages and support information reviewing them for accuracy and completeness
Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data and establish cost improvements/reductions for current production to be re-quoted.
Uploads quotes into Salesforce and updates Salesforce weekly quote status.
Various other miscellaneous duties as required.


College degree or 5 years of equivalent training/experience.
Manufacturing background that includes a minimum of 5 years in an estimating position.
Experience in a TS 16949 environment is a plus.
Knowledge of plastic injection molding, tooling, and process engineering. Metal stamping experience is a plus.
Strong proficiency with computers, CAD, Microsoft office products (including Word, Excel, and Project Manager)
Technically inclined with strong math skills and the the abilities to read blue prints and follow complex directions.
Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure.
Preferred Secondary Training: SPC. Quality System Training: Contract Review, Document & Data Control, Purchasing, Process Control, Corrective / Preventative Action, and Control of Quality Records.
Must be team oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills
