Manufacturer of seawall products is searching for a Sales Engineer/Business Development. This position will cover Florida and Louisiana.

Position Summary: Drive the sales activities to achieve planned goals for revenue and profit growth. Work with management to develop and implement strategies and tactics required to meet business plan objectives.

Essential duties and responsibilities which must be performed in order to carry out the position purpose summarized above (the following description is a general representation of the key duties and responsibilities of this position. Other duties may be assigned, as required).

Increase sales revenue with the goal of meeting or exceeding business plan objectives.
Actively participate in field sales, including trade shows, technical presentations, and customer meetings, to introduce and educate customers on the benefits of products for their projects.
Develop and build strong relationships with current and prospective customers, including engineers, contractors, government agencies, and other project decision makers, with the goal of specifying on significant commercial, private, and federal construction projects. Leverage relationships to proactively find sales opportunities to increase installations in the marketplace.
Provide customers with technical engineering support and solutions to facilitate the use of product.
Consistently follow-up on prospective projects, provide quotations, and follow through on orders, including submittal, payment, manufacturing, and product delivery to ensure high level of customer satisfaction.
Assist in developing strategies, tactics, forecasts, and budgets. Work with marketing to integrate expertise into sales tools, training and marketing campaigns.
Participate in developing and maintaining data on competitive products, sales, pricing, limitations, and marketing activities.
Direct and manage sales staff activities within budget to achieve the sales plan.
Provide timely feedback to team.


Desire to be in sales with willingness to travel up to 80% of time
Possess and demonstrate sufficient technical knowledge with credibility to engineering and construction professionals
Professional demeanor, solution-focused, accurate work and attention to detail
High energy and self-motivated with strong sense of urgency
Excellent interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication; able to conduct professional presentations to large groups
Strong management skills to prioritize, plan, organize and delegate
Strong influencing skills to drive results
Bachelors degree in Civil or related engineering field
Two to five years of technical sales experience successfully selling building/construction materials directly to contractors and indirectly to engineering firms who must approve and specify the product for use
Established relationships with engineering and design/build firms, and government agencies who design and construct retaining walls for various markets
