Quality Assurance Technician

Proto Plastics Inc. is an ISO 9001:2008 certified custom plastic injection molding company in Tipp City, Ohio. We supply plastic injection molded parts and assemblies to major companies in a variety of industries including: automotive, medical, environmental, industrial, high-tech, consumer electronics, and construction.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for a hands-on Quality Assurance Technician. This position will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and participate in quality assurance activities at the company while interacting with operational departments. The successful candidate will have some quality part checking skills, strong communication and computer skills, and the ability to operate in a small company environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following:
-Operate day-to-day within the companys quality department & system
-Ability to read and understand blueprints or Engineering drawings
-Ability to recognize part defects and non-conformance issues and communicate them to the internal quality assurance manager
-Work with hand gauges and measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and scales
-Must have a positive & self-starter attitude with a willingness to learn
-Ability to work effectively with others, as youll interface with management, as well as representatives on the manufacturing floor & secondary operations department
-Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
-Ability to prioritize assignments, meet deadlines, and respond quickly to changing needs
-Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word & Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
-Knowledge and understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance) and SPC (Statistical Process Control)
-Experience within an ISO-registered molding or machine shop
-Proficiency in the operation of CMMs (Coordinate-Measuring Machine) & Optical Comparators
-Minimum of 1 year experience in the quality area of plastics injection molding facility
-High school diploma or equivalent
