Project Engineer CO Open (J#26906)
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 1 - 3 years

Summary: Manages all phases of programs from quoting through production hand off, ensuring they are
completed on time and within budget regularly interfacing with the customers to ensure the company
and customer objectives are both met. Responsibility throughout program life for the pricing, schedule,
and technical performance of processes and secondary operations related to the major programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Leads program review sessions with large customers or critical projects to discuss cost, schedule
and technical performance.
Determines customer requirements and negotiates price with vendors for tools, equipment and
services.
Develops new business or expands the product line with the customer.
Provides engineering support to sales for presentations to help sell manufacturing capabilities.
Coordinates mold design process, assembly development and supply chain requirements by
holding design reviews and weekly project status meetings.
Acts as main communication interface between company, customers and vendors for progam
launch activities.
Develops flowcharts, GANNT charts and other project report mechanisms as needed.
Reviews outstanding issues with manufacturing and quality.
Initiates Engineering Change Notices.
Provides updated pricing if resulting from program or engineering change.
Evaulates pricing of individual SKUs compared to initial quote to evaluate profitability and make the
necessary pricing adjustments.
Supports manufacturing by quoting production processes as required.
Recognize areas for internal improvement and develop plans for implementing them.
Leads all launch activities to ensure manufacturing team is equipped for production ready
program introduction.
Interfaces with tool suppliers to ensure correct tool builds along with part supply for initial builds.
Supports manufacturing and quality during sampling/prototype activities.
Provides POs to Customer Service Reps (CSRs) for tooling and pre-production requirements.
Provides engineering input for quotes.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelors degree in mechanical or plastics engineering or related
discipline; with 1 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.

Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports; however, Thixo Engineers must coordinate and manage
programs with multiple interfaces to achieve successful project completion.

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
Injection tooling background preferred.
Customer interface experience preferred.
CAD experience preferred.
