Our Crystal Lake plant has 2 focus factories under one 500,000 square foot roof: Containers and Syringes. Containers range in size from one quart to 30 gallons, used by hospitals to hold medical waste and sharps. Our Syringes are 12 ml syringes that will mainly be filled with saline and used to flush intravenous lines.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for directing and coordinating activitiesin a high-speed manufacturing Focus Factory in a controlled manufacturing environment (CME).Operations include injection molding and automated assembly of components into FDA regulated syringes. Supervise the respective areas (7 production lines and 23 injection molding machines) in an efficient, safe and cost effective manner in accordance with the Quality System. Must be available to work a full-time, 12-hour night shift, from 6pm to 6am, 3 days per week alternating with 4 days per week.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Maintain company policies.

2. Follow 10 principles of GMP.

3. Follow all written procedures as appropriate.

4. Work independently from verbal and/or written instruction from the Focus Factory Manager.

5. Review production reports and work towards lowering scrap, rework and down time in the area.

6. Participate in hiring of emploeyees. Review and work with employees to set common goals and give them direction needed to assist them in meeting their goals.

7. Monitor employees to ensure they are following procedures the way they were trained.

8. Maintain pay records or time cards for direct reports.

9. Observe and document Employee performance.

10.Prepare and conduct Direct Report performance reviews.

11.Maintain a clean and safe work area.

12.Ensure quality product is being produced at the standard rate while minimizing scrap and down time.

13.Ensure all company policies and procedures are being followed.

14.Provide positive reinforcement, constructive criticism and disciplinary actions as appropriate.

15.Assign resources to meet daily priorities.

16.Communicate unusual operating conditions to appropriate personnel.

17.Review all production and labor hours.

18.Ensure associates are trained per Individual Development Plan and assist in their development.

19.Accurately document all rework.

20.Ensure efficient job changes.

22.Coach Associates to meet or exceed job requirements.

23.Provide cross training opportunities to ensure appropriate skill base.

24.Conduct meetings as required or appropriate.

25.Identify and resolve issues with other Departments as appropriate.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required/preferred:
Bachelor's degree required; technical degree preferred

Experience:

Previous Production Supervisory experience in a highly automated manufacturing setting.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
Intermediate math skills.
Lean Manufacturing Certificate.
Injection molding experience: Establishing injection molding processes, Starting/Stopping machines, Processing out bubbles, burns, flash, etc
Ability to read and use measuring /gauging equipment as required.
Basic S.P.C. knowledge.
Good communication, teaching and interpersonal skills.
