Production Manager NC Open (J#27314)
Education: High School
Experience: 1 - 3 years

Summary: Directs the activities of hourly production staff on the assigned shift under the direction of the Production Manager, responsible for recording production results, and or all production on the assigned shift in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work.

Operations to keep efficient work production:
Directs operators with respect to production volume and quality.
Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of operators.
Confers with the Production Manager and Production Scheduler to establish working schedules for all departments connected with production.
Recommends the hiring and releasing of production temps as required to maintain production schedule.
In connection with other supervisors, establishes accountability and goals used for performance evaluation.

Maintaining Employee Efficiency:
Interviewing, selecting and training employees
Appraising employee productivity and efficiency
Handling employee complaints and grievances
Disciplining employees
Planning and apportioning work among employees

Organization in Record keeping:
Arranges to have appropriate production records prepared and given to the Production Control Assistant for Syteline data entry.
Keeps records of departmental activity as required. Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
Maintaining production or sales records as necessary.

Otto Policies knowledge:
Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
Maintains good employee relations and adherence to company policy, takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required.

Any other duties as assigned by the Production or Plant Manager.



Ability to read, analyze, and interpret manufacturing documentation and reports.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to effectively present information to plant management.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Detail oriented and ability to lead others in working efficiently and accurately.
Ability to respond to problems quickly, while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Self-motivated with the desire to succeed.

MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math skills required


High school graduate or equivalent (a combination of education and work experience may be considered in lieu of diploma)
Additional college-level courses in engineering and management subjects desirable.
Injection molding experience preferred
