Process Technician SC Open (J#27837)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Shifts Available: 2nd shift - 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM Monday through Friday

Location: Rock Hill, SC

FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Overview:
Responsible for the technical support of production injection molding operations under the direction of Engineering and
Manufacturing. Establishes mold process and document parameters on in-process control sheets to produce product to
print requirements and to specified standard rates. Performs technical duties of a manufacturing engineering nature
analyzing production tooling, processes, and equipment of any molding manufacturing process. Makes recommendations
to alter and/or rebuild tooling and equipment. Analyzes and refines existing processes using Scientific Injection Molding
(SIM).

Primary Responsibilities:
- Establishes new process parameters for mold start-ups and provides input to engineering.
- Sets-up cameras and troubleshoots vision systems.
- Programs and troubleshoots robotic equipment that is supporting the molding process
- Assists mold engineering in new product releases and work with other team members as necessary in supporting
production.
- Provides responsive support to the molding department production line to address technical processing issues while
ensuring the safe manufacture of quality products to meet the on time delivery schedule.
- Works with Molding, Manufacturing, and Engineering to identify root cause and to implement corrective and preventive
measures to improve or ensure product quality across product lines.
- Assists manufacturing associates with set-up on an as needed basis.
- Operates molding equipment on an as needed basis.
- Provides training and support to other molding personnel.
- Assists production in implementing any necessary safety controls or procedures.
- Participates in campus safety programs as required to include adhering to all EH&S policies and procedures.
- Participates in lean manufacturing activities as needed.
- Ensures proper cleanliness of equipment and immediate area in accordance with company housekeeping, safety, and
environmental guidelines.
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience
- HS degree or equivalent required. Associates degree in related field preferred.
- Minimum of eight years related experience required. Experience in injection and/or over molding required.
- Master Molder Certification strongly preferred or the ability to obtain certification within first year in the position.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints required. Understanding of geometric tolerances
preferred.
- Ability to properly utilize micrometers and calipers required.

Language & Mathematical Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Strong interpersonal skills with all positions within the campus. Strong communication skills including the ability to speak
effectively, present information, and respond to questions in both group settings and one-on-one conversations.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole number, common fractions, and
decimals.

Other Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of applicable computer software including Windows and the Internet.
- Working knowledge of SAP preferred.
- Ability to acquire TE Fork Lift Certification.
- Ability to adapt to changes in the work environment including managing competing demands and dealing with frequent
changes, delays, or unexpected events.

Physical Abilities
Physical requirements include the ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 55 lbs, ability to occasionally push or pull up
to 1100 lbs, and the ability to stand and walk the majority of the shift. Specific vision abilities required by this job include
close vision (@ 20 inches or less) for small objects, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
