Process Technician NC 39 - 47k (J#25656)
Education: High School
Experience: 1 - 3 years

Otto Environmental Systems, North Carolina, has an immediate need for a Process Technician in its Charlotte, NC plant. Working hours are a rotating, 12 - hour shift.

Summary: Sets up and operates injection-molding machines. Sets machine controls and regulates molding temperature, volume of plastic, molding pressure and time, according to knowledge of plastics and molding procedures. Works with Mold Setters to safely complete mold changes and to maintain quality parts at an acceptable cycle time.

Operational Functions:

Establishes and maintains the set points to produce a quality part at the optimum cycle.
Sets up hot stamping machines to produce consistent and quality stamps.
Inspects all tools needed to complete any mold change. Simple troubleshooting of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
Resets and starts all material and conveyor equipment.

Has knowledge of safety standards follows prescribed guidelines and reports any exceptions to supervisor.
Has knowledge of quality standards follows prescribed guidelines and reports or corrects any exceptions.
Routine Tasks Needed to be Performed:

Performs routine maintenance on molds, such as cleaning and fixing water breaks.
Records data on proper forms or books.
Performs color changes with and without purging compound.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical documentation and production documentation
Ability to respond to common inquiries from management staff
Ability to effectively present information
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Knowledge of robot operations
Good communication skills
Mechanical Ability
MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Basic math skills required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or equivalent
2-year technical degree preferred
3 - 5 Years injection molding experience
Valid state issued driver's license
