Process Technician NC Open (J#27312)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Summary: Responsible for efficient mold inserts, changes and mold and parts maintenance.
Sets up and operates injection-molding machines. Sets machine controls and regulates molding temperature,
volume of plastic, molding pressure and time according to knowledge of plastics and molding procedures.
Works with Mold Setters to safely complete mold changes and to maintain quality parts at an acceptable cycle

Operations Assistants:
Assist with preventative mold maintenance according to maintenance system
Assist Process Technicians (II) with processing and machine combinations for easy reference and quicker setups
Responsible for color changes
Assure correct resins are used at the presses with correct percentages of regrind /spot resin / PCR
Maintain appropriate documentation
Maintain cycle and material reports to appropriate personnel

Managing mold operations:
Prepares molds and inserts in advance according to Master production schedule
Expedites mold and insert changes in the shortest amount of time using all available resources
Prepares new molds for start-up after mold change occurs
Maintains Last Part Inventory of all molds and communicates with Maintenance Scheduler/Planner when new parts are needed
Other duties & special projects as assigned

Minimum Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma or equivalent
2-year degree or technical college preferred
3 to 7 years related experience and/or training in injection molding
Basic Math skills

Desired Qualifications:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
Ability to read, analyze and interpret common technical documentation and production documentation
Ability to respond to common inquiries from management staff
Ability to effectively present information
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge of robot operations
Good communication skills
