Process Technician GA 45 - 56k (J#27401)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Description

Under limited supervision performs highly complex mechanical and technical duties in support of equipment and processes for injection molding and plastics assembly. Assists with capturing and documentation of operating procedures and work instructions with the focus on continuously improving productivity and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs complete job set-ups from mold, robot, process and start-up of equipment to finished goods.
Reviews the process control forms/process book to confirm that the injection molding machine is running in accordance with the standard process and set-up documentation.
Assists in troubleshooting processes and molds. Assists in troubleshooting various molding equipment such as robot vacuum cups, proximity switches and hopper switches.
May make minor molding machine adjustments to maintain peak operating efficiencies on process and non process controlling areas such as heater, die heights, speeds and feeds, vacuum switch adjustments, option switch sensitivity adjustments, and minor mechanical switch adjustments.
Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical or pneumatic faults on injection molding and assembly equipment.
Performs mold cleanings, following the proper mold cleaning procedures at the proper frequencies.
Observes the molding and assembly cell condition for any signs of wear or problems including leaks, wear, excessive motion and noise. Assists with repairs as needed.
Learns to follow proper maintenance procedures for various molding /assembly equipment; this includes the proper start-up, shut-down, calibration and purge procedures.
Adjusts and calibrates machinery as needed using small hand tools. Corrects malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts as directed by Manufacturing Engineers.
May be responsible for maintaining parts storage including cleaning, organizing, labeling and monitoring inventory.
Acts as technical resource to Material Handlers in cleaning (grinders, dryers, loaders.)
Uses standard or custom measuring gauges to ensure conformance to quality specifications. Gauges may include digital clippers, digital indicators and fixed gauges.
Records all performed equipment tasks on appropriate logs.
Supports all company safety and quality programs and initiatives.
Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company and the requirements of the department/position.

Requirements

1. High School Diploma or equivalent. Preferably 8+ years experience in injection molding.

2. RJG Experience

3. Experience troubleshooting injection mold machines with 2 plate, 3 plate, hot runners

4. Knowledge of open and closed loop process control systems

5. Ability to stand, walk, squat, kneel, bend and/or sit for prolonged periods of time.

6. Ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs. above shoulder height

7. Ability to use hand tools, moveable stairs, and safety equipment

8. Good manual dexterity required.

9. Strong work ethic & positive work attitude required.

10. Excellent attendance and the flexibility to work overtime as needed.

11. Ability to drive a forklift and use pallet jacks.
