Process Technician CO 40 - 50k (J#27828)
Education: Associates Degree
Experience: 1 - 3 years

Position Summary:

Work closely with Engineers to qualify new injection molding equipment and tooling; including preparing equipment,
material and tooling for mold trials, operating equipment, troubleshooting and developing processes, performing
qualification activities for tooling and molded parts, and documenting results. Works under general supervision of Project
Team Lead or Process Engineer on multiple assignments of small scope and complexity.

Essential Activities and Duties:

Follow all employee guidelines and Quality Systems Regulations (QSR's) as defined by CEA's practices, policies and
Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to insure that customer requirements and FDA (or equivalent) regulations are
met.

Prepare molding equipment for mold trials; mount molds, change barrels and screws, hook up ancillary equipment, and
prepare materials.
Operate injection molding equipment
Perform new mold trials, document results and coordinate follow-up activities with Toolroom and Metrology.
Perform molding equipment and tooling installation qualifications per established procedures or protocols.
Perform molding process characterization studies per established procedures or protocols.
Assist in molding process development. Troubleshoot molding equipment, tooling and process issues.
Assist the Engineers with revisions and improvements to process documentation, including writing change orders and
deviations.
Complete time studies to quantify processing times and identify areas for process improvements.
Assist in failure analysis, troubleshooting, of manufactured molded product to determine root cause
Assist with hands on training of manufacturing employees on new products, tooling, equipment and process revisions.
Perform tests, gather data, and write results/reports with assistance from Engineering
Supports periodic volume increases through build of production product following applicable processes and procedures.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Associate's degree (A.S.) or equivalent plus 1 year of injection molding experience in a technician position. Or, at least 3
years of injection molding experience in a technician position. Or, at least 5 years of relevant experience in a Production
injection molding position with a history of learning and increased responsibilities.
Practical understanding of injection molding equipment, processes, tooling, and materials.
Background in plastics processing and troubleshooting Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and
complete work on schedule.
Follow directions while displaying cooperative and positive behavior with co-workers
Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
Strong problem solving skills and efficient management of time and resources

Preferred

Prior experience in a medical device manufacturing environment
Experience in a regulated environment, such as ISO and FDA QSR
