Process Engineer OR Open (J#26205)

Vision is GROWING and is adding a Process Engineer position to keep up with new production needs. Test and evaluate new tooling. Establish production process and assist production in trouble shooting existing jobs.


1.Test and evaluate new tooling.
2.Perform and document process window studies, gate freeze and Design of Experiments.
3.Establish processes for new products and existing jobs that have been moved to a new press.
4.Assist production in trouble shooting existing jobs.
5.Enter molding parameters into press properly. Adjust for proper barrel temperature settings.
6.Check for proper material and dryer temperature. Verify dryer and all loading equipment is contamination free.
7.Ensure proper work order and lot number entered in Shotscope prior to machine start up.
8.Monitor press, part quality and quantity. Trouble shoot and make necessary adjustments and prepare proper documentation. Investigate cause and effect. Document root cause and develop corrective action.
9.Maintain accurate documentation of process parameters.
10.Properly complete tool write-ups for mold repairs.
11.Complete required documentation.
12.Assist in training.


1.Maintain a test schedule for upcoming new and existing tooling and publish weekly.
2.Review new tooling layouts with engineering staff.
3.Assist sales staff in establishing shots per hour and press size for new jobs.
4.Perform other duties as assigned.


1.Must be able to read and understand Blue Prints and part specifications.
2.Must be able to perform basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.)
3.Must have basic understanding of injection mold design and window study techniques.

4.Must have advanced knowledge of material drying, blending and mixing requirements.
5.Must have good hand tool skills and mechanical ability.
6.Must have basic tools required for the job.
7.Must be able to perform root cause analysis.
8.Must be able to process all types of plastic.
9.Must have advanced knowledge of injection molding machines and processes.


B.A./B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience required. Minimum ten years experience as a Process Technician in an injection molding environment.
