This Position is responsible for process control of the injection molding machines, including starting and
running injection molding process applications, assuring standards of quality and maintenance are met
and sustained; responsible for writing and creating process documentation to support the processing
applications. In addition this position is responsible for the concept, design, and construction of various
fixtures, gages, tooling, and ancillary equipment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.Samples all tools deemed no longer capable of producing quality parts, all tools after any repairs or
changes, and any new tooling or materials.
2.Processes the molding machines including verification of mold status and dimensional sizing of
parts.
3.Interacts with Engineering, providing input regarding new tool and part designs as well as for
continuous improvement.
4.Together with Maintenance, repairs ancillary injection molding equipment as required.
5.Prepares the process verification sheets for each job and ensure proper filing in the process book
to allow for an organized reference system for proper set-up.
6.Processing new jobs from start-up, running the jobs to completion.
7.Maintains current drawings of shop floor plans.
8.Ensures tooling used with molding machines is in proper working order by performing preventative
maintenance.
9.Assists in installation of injection molding machines.
10.Assists all process technicians with processing old and new tooling, and implement new processing
standards.
11.Overviews current injection molding processes and performs regular process optimization projects
to provide continuous improvement and overall time savings.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs all other duties as assigned.
Trouble shooting of molding machines as needed.
Interacts with Shift Supervisors, providing input regarding quality assurance issues.
Assures proper housekeeping standards are maintained.
Mixes materials necessary to the injection molding process.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
A High School Diploma
Appropriate technical training/background in injection molding, together with a minimum of five years of
direct experience in high volume injection molding.
Must possess strong mechanical creative problem solving skills.
Be familiar with ancillary equipment including chillers, material mixers, die heaters, molding temperature
controllers, robots and material drying and delivery systems. As well as gages, metal cutting, CNC
programming, and material handling systems.
Must have a working knowledge of statistical process control (SPC), CAD, CATIA and molding.
Additional certification and/or license a plus: forklift license, crane license.
