We are excited to announce an opening for a driven Process Engineer, Injection Molding in our South Deerfield, MA location.

Area of responsibility is to be actively involved with the NPI process representing tooling and molding interest. Will be involved with tool trials and buy offs as well as trial request and production at Pelican products. Will also be involved in new capital purchases for new machines and auxiliary equipment. Will be leading process R and D developments.

Supporting NPI processes.
Develop an understanding of the process variables for the presses - inputs, machine processes and outputs. Assess the levels of control, severity of their impact, develop a plan and implement the solutions.
Troubleshoots and resolves complex production problems with all molded products as requested from Production Managers.
Ensures that all new materials and molds undergo proper testing, including first article testing, and authorizing their release to production.
Control BOO/EPEI accuracy.
Active involvement in the New Product Introduction process to help with tool and part design.
Supervise shift technicians and their activities to help maintain the controls set up. Assess their skill requirements and develop training as needed.
Communicate with tooling and molding vendors as needed. This may require travel to resolve issues as needed.
Perform other related duties as required or directed.

In-depth knowledge of plastic injection molding techniques and procedures, including mold design, mold set-ups, and blending machines, preferably through accreditation by a technical or vocational college and/or five or more years experience in a similar capacity within an injection molding environment.
Very good knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical operations.
Excellent writing and verbal communication and presentation skills.
Must have excellent time management and project management skills.
Excellent knowledge of plant and machine safety.
Must have excellent math skills and the ability to work with measurements and ratios.
Must be able to work independently with minimal supervisor.
Must have the ability to maintain accurate and organized production processing
Must have the ability to complete assignments within time frame specified by the Manager.
Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
Must be able to operate in a fast-paced organization and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be flexible with work schedules and be available to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
