Position Summary

Provide assistance to manufacturing in order to produce a quality product in a safe and efficient manner. This includes the installation of machinery andtroubleshooting of scientific injection molding processingoperations and automation equipment in the manufacture of components into FDA regulated syringes. This is a high-speed Focus Factory and a controlled manufacturing environment (CME). Continuously improve operations and product quality by developing and maintaining optimal process parameters on new and existing injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment. Assist in the development and troubleshooting of new and existing tooling. This position will also handle capital projects that include but not limited to specifying, purchasing and installing injection molding machines, molds, and auxiliary equipment along with managing automation projects of new and existing assembly operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist in the planning of the installation of scientific injection molding and automation equipment.
Write and execute validation protocols-IQ/OQ/PQ.
Validate production equipment and injection molds in order to comply with FDA regulations.
Write Change Development Programs and Capital Expense Requestss.
Develop and maintain best possible injection molding process parameters.
Analyze targets and settings over time to understand key variables that are moving naturally and develop failure limits.
Resolve or rationalize differences between settings on like lines.
Analyze process audit data and lead driving back to target.
Analyze product defect data on individual processes to identify and improve process capability.
Collect and analyze data on individual processes to identify and improve process capability.
Benchmark supplier processes to identify potential sources of variation and prevent potential product failures.
Champion cost reduction activities and supporting documentation.
Interface and coordinate with equipment vendors and contractors during development, build, and installation of new automation equipment.
Support the development, test, and qualification of new and replacement molds for plant produced product.
Support test and qualification requirements for new and redesigned product packages.
Provide training and assistance to plant departments.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education required/preferred:
BS required: BS in Engineering or related field preferred.

Experience:
2-5 years manufacturing experience preferably within the medical industry. Planning and Project Management of large capital projects in injection molding, polymer processing, automation and equipment integration.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
RJG Process Technology, 6 Sigma or Lean certified, trouble shooting skills, basic polymer principles, able to be an individual contributor, team player and hands-on.

Skills/Competencies:
Project management of large capital projects.

Other Skills:
Ability to flex and excel in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

Organizational Relationships/Scope:

Frequent contact with: Management Staff, Production Department, Finance Department, Quality Assurance Department, Human Resource Department, and Materials Management Department.

Working Conditions:

1. The working conditions for this position are typical of an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet and free of fumes and airborne particulate.

When occasionally entering the manufacturing facility safety glasses and hearing protection are required.
