What We Are Looking For:
Dickten Masch is a thermoplastics and thermoset molder on a strong growth track. As part of this growth, we are looking to expand and deepen our technical competence by adding a few strong candidates to our team. We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our team on 1st shift. The Process Engineer will provide process engineering, troubleshooting, process control, and related support to the molding operation to ensure the production of cost efficient, quality products, on time to customers.
Essential Duties:
Presents all manufacturing concerns and tooling issues during new project review meetings.
Define and document initial tool setups to confirm best configuration for cooling lines, tool function, robotic setup, RJG sensors, operator station, secondary equipment, and packaging.
Employ problem solving techniques, such as 8D and other root cause analysis techniques.
Employ continuous improvement and Lean methods in numerous areas.
Collects data for process development and maintains process development history as well as controlling final process data.
Documents procedures and work instructions pertaining to process control and process methods.
Assist in the application and formulation of design-of-experiments, capability studies, and process control plans and process failure mode effect analysis. (DOE, CpK, CP, FMEA)
Lend support through training and technical advice to the technicians and other technical staff.
Preferred Background:
A college degree is strongly preferred. High school diploma and five to seven years related experience will be considered.
Molder Certification (Master Molder preferred).
Experience should include using various grades of engineering resins in sampling and debugging of new tools in a custom molding environment.
A working knowledge of Scientific Molding methods to include in-mold intelligence (such a cavity pressure), process parameter control, and the ability to divert suspect parts based on key parameters
Ability to interpret GD& T, part geometry, and make design change recommendations .
Ability to determine best method of gating, cooling requirements, estimated cycle time, needed secondary operations, packaging needs, etc.
Must have background with design of experiments to layout and perform DOE's with follow up capability studies and assist with methods of measurement.
Must be familiar with mold construction techniques and different tool steel variables and be able to recommend mold correction procedures for tooling improvement.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and fellow team members.
Ability to apply mathematical concepts to processing and troubleshooting problems.
Proficient ability in machine set-ups, start-ups, and shut-downs; mold care and process monitoring.
General understanding of ERP system, data base, and bill-of-manufacture to ensure accurate and current pertinent information is available to all employees.
