Multi-billion dollar company in the Florida coastal area is searching for an Injection Molding Process and Tooling Engineer.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Plans and performs process development for existing and new transfer, and injection tooling in concert with scientific molding

Provides tooling design input and coordinates tooling modifications

Work with design of experiments (DOE/statistical analysis) to optimize process parameters/controls

Hands-on operation experience with hydraulic and electrical machines, multi-cavity molds, vertical/horizontal insert molding

Accurately and systematically records data used to analyze set-ups, change-overs, and processes

Develops robust processes to achieve print and quality specifications

Qualifies tools for production use

Ensures that nay changes are documented to ensure all processing is maintained to procedures

Analyzes engineering drawings to facilitate a comprehensive knowledge of the part requirements

Provide training and technical support to the molding technical staff on all shifts and build a scientific molding culture

Provide Engineering team with mold processing information and analysis tools

Troubleshoots and engineers solutions to process, tool and machine problems

Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action, and customer satisfaction

Confers with vendors to determine specifications and arrange for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates fixtures according to specifications and quality standards

Ensure projects meet cost targets and quality requirements

Assesses and enhances equipment capabilities

Must be available to provide direction and support when there are processing and/or tooling issues on the off-
shifts and week-ends that require a Process Engineer

Perform other duties as assigned


Solid knowledge and experience in processing and tooling

Bachelors degree in engineering discipline preferred

Must have a minimum of 5-10 years related experience in molding or equivalent combination of education and experience

RJG Master Molder I Certification or equivalent preferred
Scientific / De-coupled molding experience

Hands-on operation experience with hydraulic and electrical machines, co-injection molding, multi-cavity molds, vertical/horizontal insert molding

Availability to work a flexible schedule

Ability to support a 24/7 operation during and after launch phase as requirements dictate
