Plant Manager CA Open (J#12035)
Education: Bachelors Degree

Job Summary
This position holds primary responsibility for all plant operations.

Directs and coordinates, in accordance with Company policies and procedures, the Plant Line and Staff organizations so that production, quality and quantity requirements are met, costs are within budgetary standards, and best manufacturing practices are utilized in the maintenance and conservation of equipment and facilities. Develops a continuous improvement culture utilizing lean manufacturing principles in a unionized environment.

Essential Job and Quality Functions
qPlans and coordinates manufacturing activities to meet customer expectations.
qEstablish production standards to meet Company and customer requirements.
qEnsure establishment and adherence of procedures to maintain quality standards.
qEnsures preventive maintenance of equipment and machinery.
qMaintains accurate inventory of products.
qNurtures customer relations and is responsive to their needs.
qDevelops and maintains positive relations with the community.
qRoutinely reviews documents and process to ensure cost effectiveness of operations.
qEnsures personnel polices are applied consistently. Establishes and maintains positive employee relations.
qPrepares budgetary requirements accurately and timely. Authorizes all plant expenditures
qAuthorize all plant hires. Sole authority for termination of employees
qNegotiate all business moves
qEnsure a safe work environment for all employees. Comply with OSHA and Company safety and hygiene standards
qEnsure compliance with all Equal Opportunity laws
qCreate and monitor all interplant goals

Supervisory Responsibilities
Production manager, Business manager / QA manager and Maintenance Supervisor

Relationships
A.Responsible to Regional Manager for performance of assigned functions and cooperates with Division Staff Departments for guidance and advice.
B.Exercises direct control over Plant functions and Coordinates line and staff activities so that plant objectives are met.
C.Conducts relationships with the public as necessary to foster sound community relations.
D.Maintains contacts with Sales Offices so that customer requirements are effectively met and maximum utilization of plant facilities is obtained.
E.Maintain positive relations with Customers and addresses issues promptly.

REQUIREMENTS:

Leadership of the plant in meeting EBITDA, customer, and operational requirements. Must have a strong background in operations that includes meticulous and diligent control systems, along with a proven track record of high performance. Must have the ability to identify key plant resources and the development of the same in order to build a sustainable culture of control and outstanding quality and financial performance. Detail orientation, customer intimacy, continuous improvement skills are key components of the required leadership style.

Minimum 5 years in a plant management role with a demonstrated track record of acheiving plant production goals.
Bachelors degree preferred but not required.
Experience in plastic or other container manufacturing is preferred
Experience with Bekum and/or Fischer Blow Molding machines a plus
Experience with CMMS (such as Asset Controller); Budgeting and Financial Control; Ceridian Time and Attendance a plus
