Mold Repair/Mold Maint Tech GA Open (J#18086)

Experience: 4 - 9 years

Warner Robins, Georgia based injection molder is seeking an experienced Mold Repair/Mold Maintenance Technician.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Support injection molding facility mold maintenance and repairs according to due dates
- Troubleshoot and assemble hot-runner manifold system
- Maintain tools so they stay in correct working order
- Disassemble complex mold tooling for cleaning and repair. Cleaning includes disassembly of mold, cleaning each piece of tooling and inspecting for wear and damage. Details are reworked or replaced as needed.
- Maintenance of high polish mold cavities SPI A2
- Change-over molds which includes changing out details to change product part configuration
- Fits and assemble component parts into mold cavities and verifies dimensions, alignment and clearance
- Analyzes and corrects complex mold malfunctions to assure mold will produce acceptable parts
- Ability to condition new molds
- May perform TIG/Laser welding to make repairs to mold tooling, mold frames and other mold parts requiring a fine blend of surface metal that would not distort the finished product.
- Fabrication and hand fitting of mold tooling
- Help keep tooling area clean and organized
- Use equipment properly and follow the safety features/operating procedures
- Follow applicable safety, quality, and environmental programs, policies and procedures
- Actively participate in continual improvement, corrective action and customer satisfaction


- HS diploma or GED required
- Minimum of five years of experience at a Journeyman level for moldmaking/polishing/spotting
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of molding, tool room practices and fabricating techniques
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to accurately read and interpret blueprints
- Advanced knowledge of bridgeport, lathe, grinders, sandblasting, benching, spotting
- Advanced knowledge of mold polishing techniques SPI A2 preferred
- Advanced knowledge of precision measurement devices
- Advanced knowledge of tool design and understanding of fit and function of mold components
- Understanding of Plastics Injection Molding
- Must be willing to work overtime as necessary
