Mold Repair NC Open (J#27860)
Education: High School
Experience: 1 - 3 years

Position: Tooling Technician for Plastic Injection Molding

SUMMARY:
Plan, organize, control and integrate the completion of new mold tooling projects for plastics injection molding, design changes to current mold tooling, and repairs to existing mold tooling and preventative maintenance.

Repair and rework existing molds:
Rework existing molding tools.
Manage repairs/rebuilds using in-house resources and third party mold shops.
Prepare quotes and timelines on the work involved in reworks/repairs.
Assemble / disassemble injection molds
Preventative Maintenance:
Manage Preventative Maintenance projects using in-house staff:
Create and manage a mold database/list and track updates, modifications, spare parts lists, and other relevant information for all molds within the Company.
Wire hot runners, hot sprues, thermocouples in addition to replace hot runner components
Wire limit switches
Mold preventative maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, polishing
Blue and spot shutoffs in and out of the machine
Communication:
Communicate appropriately with customers, engineering, manufacturing, and quality departments.
Provide manufacturing staff support and other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Monday Friday 3:00pm to 11:30pm
Hourly Pay Rate Range: $24.00 to $28.00 based on experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common technical documents, drawings
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot molding issues to improve efficiency and product quality
Knowledge of core pull hydraulic cylinders rebuild / replace
TIG / MIG welding steel and copper a plus
Former injection mold tooling experience minimum 3 to 5 years
Ability to make small parts in manual lathe, milling machine, small grinder

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Experience in plastics, design, or mechanical engineering (a combination of experience and education may be substituted in lieu of bachelors degree)
Experience with large tonnage injection molding (over 2000 tons) required
Experience with plastic injection molds
Experience with CAD/CAM tool/mold making design a plus, progressive die design highly desired
