Mold Repair MI Open (J#27934)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years


To maintain high quality tooling through preventative maintenance, minor repair, and visual evaluation.


o Must be a team player and educate and share ideals when needed.
o Read and understand tooling work orders and follow instructions.
o Responsible for the correct disassembly and assembly molds in a safe and timely manner.
o Able to clean molds and assist Maintenance Technicians when needed.
o Work to a schedule and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
o Maintain a clean and well-organized work area.
o Utilize measuring equipment that include micrometers, calipers, height gage, bore micrometers, etc.
o Assist in the monitoring process to help keep a reasonable component inventory in stock.
o Reduce machine downtime.
o Maintain all tools and equipment that are used including the daily cleaning of tool room machinery.
o Assist in maintaining maintenance records on the company computer system.
o Work with little or no supervision when given clear direction.
o Work with Process Engineers to trouble shoot issues with tool or improve on.
o Be able to work on the production floor with tool in press to correct any issue to keep down time at a minimum.
o Able to operate a Surface grinder with in a + or - .0002 on critical details.
o Able to operate a Bridgeport/Lathe with in a + or - .001 tolerance.
o Able to run a EDM machine
o Knowledge of Manifold systems Example: Mold Master, Senventive, Osco and etc.
o Able to polish and bench details.
o Ability to fit new detail and spot in.
o Ability to trouble shoot issues and repair.
o Knowledge of hydraulic systems.
o Other duties as assigned.


o High school diploma or equivalent.
o 5 to 8 years of hands on experience in a tool room involving plastic injection mold repair or mold maintenance.
o 3 to 5 years of experience using hand operated tool room equipment.
o Knowledge and understanding of mold and die components and their respective characteristics.
o Ability to read and understand tooling work orders
o Good verbal and written communication skills.
o Basic computer skills.


o Prototype tool making experience.
o Plastic injection processing experience.
o Trade school or some college.


o Must either own or be able to obtain basic hand tools required to complete job responsibilities.
o Steel toe shoes/boots required for position.


o None


o Ability to lift 55 pounds.
o Excessive walking, bending, standing, climbing, and lifting.
o Ability to visually inspect tools with high degree of accuracy.
