Mold Maker NH Open (J#24570)

Johnson Precision is an innovative manufacturer of precision plastic injection molded components and sub-assemblies. We provide our customers with best-in-class plastic engineering support, global injection molding production capabilities and integrated supply chain solutions. We are currently looking for an experienced Plastic Injection Mold-Maker.

The Mold Maker will have a full understanding of injection mold assemblies. Johnson Precision has an Iimmediate need for a mold maker in a fast paced work environment. Must work closely with various departments such as QC, Engineering and Production, must be experienced with troubleshooting molds and work very well under pressure; these will be keys to success in this dynamic, stable organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes but is not limited to the following:

Builds plastic injection molds, tools, fixtures as needed and directs designated tool room personnel.
Can read drawings of customers parts and molds or work off model with Solidworks, Surfcam or Mastercam.
Directs assistants with mold making or machining process.
Can operate the following equipment in shop: Milling machines with CNC, conversational, manual or
Prototrack equipped, surface grinders and grinding equipment, saws, lathes manual and oscillating polishing
tools drill press, small hole drill Sinker and wire EDM machines.
Must own set of measuring tools sufficient to fabricate most injection molds.
Can design and build effective electrodes for efficient Vertical EDM machine operation.
Has skills to manage varied work and sometimes working on different projects.
Must be able to generate sketches and build work instructions to allow toolroom personnel to work as helpers.
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable in use of machinist measuring tools like micrometers, height gages,
indicators, calipers, sine plates, angle plates, optical comparator, etc.
Must produce molds per customer drawings effectively and efficiently.
Has basic knowledge of polymer as it relates to flow and shrink characteristics.
Must be familiar with use of Wire EDM as it relates to fabricating technique of mold building
Follow established ISO and production procedures. Recommend changes to the procedures that will
improve quality and/or productivity.
Participate in creating a culture of cooperation, support and overall team success.
Perform other duties as assigned to help Johnson Precision achieve its overall business strategies.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
HS Diploma or GED required
Minimum of 2 years experience in tool room within injection molding/plastics environment

JOB KNOWLEDGE, ABILILITIES AND SKILLS:
Demonstrated ability to perform basic math computations involving decimals and fractions
Capable of reading and understanding Engineering drawings and documents
Uses a computer to generate geometry and tool paths. Must be knowledgeable of CAM software packages

Must possess good communication and interpersonal skills to interact with peers and management
With minimal supervision, demonstrate the ability to solve practical problems, interpret, resolving problems and issues using a variety of instructions or guides furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Must be willing to make suggestions to improving the mold design
Must be detail-oriented and pay close attention to accuracy
