CEA Medical Manufacturing

CEA Medical Manufacturing is a contract manufacturer of complex electro-mechanical devices,

Position Summary:

Produce from 3D Models, detail drawings, sketches and verbal communications: insert molds, injection
molds, extrusion tips and dies, and production jigs and fixtures. Provide machining support for
Engineering and Manufacturing. Assemble, inspect and debug all items produced in the tool shop.
Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out on all tool shop machines and equipment.

Essential Activities and Duties:

Follow all employee guidelines and Quality Systems Regulations (QSR's) as defined by CEA's practices,
policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) to insure that customer requirements and FDA (or
equivalent) regulations are met.

Manufacture tooling accurate to models, prints, specifications and Requests For Tooling (RFT's).
Interpret models, drawings and assembly specifications and RFT's accurately.
Recognize and identify changes to designs to improve manufacturability and durability of finished
Operate tool room machines and equipment in a safe manner, and maintain a clean and safe
environment. Each Tool Maker shall be responsible for the good operation, maintenance, and upkeep of
all tool room equipment.
Schedule and perform design reviews for RFT's and other projects BEFORE any tool work or
manufacturing begins.
Track time and materials used on tooling jobs, and ensure all are recorded against the correct job
Accurately assemble and document the inspection for Form, Fit, and Function on all Tooling BEFORE
acceptance and transfer to production.
Test and debug tooling in its intended actual function to ensure compliance to design specifications and
RFT expectations.
Understand Mold Making and Tool Room Practice, Techniques and Processes, as well as various raw
materials and their uses.
Other duties as assigned


AS degree in machining or mechanical engineering or the equivalent in training, education and
8+ years of experience as a Mold Maker or Tool Maker.

Required Knowledge:

Must be familiar with metal working and production equipment, including lathes, milling machines, cut off
and band saws, grinding machines, EDM and CNC equipment; also familiar with Solid Works, Master
Cam, ANSI drawing standards / practices and all Mold Shop / Tool room inspection equipment and
