Major company in South Carolina with over a billion dollars in sales is searching for a Mold Engineering Supervisor. Reports directly to the Injection Molding Business Unit Manager. Organizes, directs and coordinates all engineering activities related to worldwide manufacturing and business activities. Responsibilities for the project and process support duties within assigned manufacturing area to sustain, improve and/or expand plant molding operations and meet business goals and objectives. Duties require application of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments. Provide capable leadership and motivation to all associates. Effectively executes all activities in compliance with the highest safety, quality, service and total cost objectives of the business at all times. Coordinates activities between plant functional departments, manufacturing process technology and division R&D as required.

Essential Functions:

Manages, plans, develops and directs the injection molding engineering department functions to support and assist the production and quality departments in order to meet or exceed budgeted goals

Coaches associates and performs yearly job evaluations on direct reports

Support and recommend the disposition of all non-conforming products

Understand and apply decoupled/systematic molding techniques in establishing new and existing processes, and general troubleshooting

Support daily production by identifying chronic issues and problems that cannot be resolved by production associates


Minimum requirements for this position include a BS/BA degree and a minimum of 5 years of project engineering and machine design or the equivalent in additional experience

Knowledge of current technology and state-of-the-art in a wide variety of disciplines, with familiarity in electronic controls, high cavitation injection molding operations, standards development and statistical engineering, OSHA and FDA validation requirements

Must be action-oriented with a strong customer focus and ability to influence others
