We currently require a talented Engineer to join our Product Development Team and take on the role of Mold Designer

Key Responsibilities:
The Mold Designer works within the Development Engineering team and is an essential part in providing engineering support as part of the Product Development process by focusing on product definition, system level and concept designs while delivering high quality, high performance, reliable and cost effective designs on time.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this individual will be responsible to:
Compile and maintain product definition
Convert product definition into concept design
Complete system level design with minimal supervision and drive innovation in system level design.
Contribute to the formulation and/or evaluation of business cases for specific projects.
Conduct Design Process Verification to ensure that all concepts and system level process steps are complete
Create design standards and have deep knowledge of products, tools, standards, and technology
Lead design review meetings
Champion the Product Development process and Product Release process
Coach and mentor Designers and Engineering technicians
Maintain thorough documentation for all aspects of assigned projects

Key Qualifications:

Post-secondary education (Bachelors in engineering preferred) or equivalent work experience
2-5 years design execution experience in a mold development environment
1-2 years experience in application of plastic parts
Specific knowledge of the part eject function and its details
Knowledge of the cooling function and cooling design in a mold
Hot runner knowledge and its influence on the mold
