Mold Process Engineer NJ 60 - 85k (J#22463)
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Our client is an industry leader in the manufacturing of Medical Devices and related products, Fortune 500 Company. We are recruiting for a Mold Tooling Engineer who will be responsible for the design of new molds, testing of proto-type molds, scaling up of proto-type molds into full production designs and the processing of new tools. This position interacts with corporate/division research and development personnel, as well as the manufacturing departments, tool room personnel and department leadership, to design, build and troubleshoot molds. Must possess the ability to identify solutions to complex molding and mold problems as they pertain to manufacturing, plus coordinate the implementation of the solutions.

Designs new molds and their components.
Works closely in conjunction with other mold suppliers.
Working with the corporate research center, performs analysis on molds and their function
Works closely with all molding personnel in the facility as well as all engineers, molding technicians and process engineering to improve mold part quality, mold efficiencies and address assembly problems due to molded parts quality.
Works with mold repair on design issues such as wear and other maintenance problems. This can involve redesign of component parts and mold function.
Works closely with all tool room personnel to assist in improving the operation.
Works with quality on mold approvals and measuring techniques for molded part quality.
Actively involved with validations, DOEs and mold approvals.
Operates molding presses in order to process new tool designs.
Prepares purchase requisitions for new injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, injection molds and for mold components.
Required to develop new and better methods of part inspection.
May be required to assist process engineering in troubleshooting production problems stemming from molding.
Inspects existing equipment and develops justification for new equipment.
Identifies and implements cost reductions.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree required in Engineeriong or other Technical discipline, Mechanical Engineering preferred
4-6 years of experience designing multi-cavity injection molds
Experience in a Medical Device manufacturing plant a plus
Demonstrated knowledge of injection molding process, mold repair and understanding of tool room operations
Six Sigma Certification preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience with equipment evaluation, procurement and implementation
