Will be responsible for exploring new molding technologies for the contact lens making industry, including molding materials/processes, molding equipment and mold tooling to improve process robustness, product performance and overall yield and productivity. In addition, the role will focus on seeding deep insights on materials and process interactions with Six Sigma techniques and quality tools; work with cross-functional teams to plan and execute the process excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Explore new and existing molding technologies in the contact lens industry.
Explore new and existing molding materials/processes to improve product quality, performance, overall yield and productivity.
Design and develop new equipment to improve process robustness.
Work with the toolmakers to improve current mold tooling or design new systems from first principles
Identify, plan, and implement process excellence and continuous improvement initiatives along with process development manager and other cross-functional teams by applying Six Sigma techniques.
Comply with FDA and GMP documentation requirements. Establish and execute experimental protocols and write technical reports. Generate and maintain written SOPs for molding, and setup on molds, machines and equipment. Execute molding experiments, DOE, sample measuring and data recording/analyzing.
Perform other job-related projects.

Must demonstrate good communication and good interpersonal skills along with leadership qualities.
As business needs dictates, works extended hours to complete daily department goals or tasks.

Multi-project management skill is a must.
Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures, Safety and Regulatory requirements.
Basic CAD knowledge e.g. Solidworks or AutoCAD
Familiarity with standard metrology equipment (e.g. CMM), calibration and data record keeping.
Experience working with the following machines, tools and equipment: Injection Molding Machines, Robotics, Mold Tools, Mold Cooling/Temperature Control Units, Fill/Close Machines & Thermal Curing Ovens.

BS degree in engineering or polymer science field is required or above. Higher qualifications will be taken in lieu of experience

5+ Years hands-on experience in injection molding in the medical industry or FMCG.
Must have extensive experience in process development/optimization, troubleshooting, statistical process control, etc.
Six Sigma knowledge and DOE experience is strongly preferred.
