MIM - Sintering Engineer NJ 30 - 45k (J#26642)
Education: Associates Degree
Experience: 1 - 3 years

We are looking for a MIM - Sintering Engineer.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
-Supervise the safe and efficient operation of all debinding and sintering equipment, currently:
**1 Vacuum Batch Furnace (9 cu foot graphite hot zone)
**1 CM Pusher Furnace
**1 CM Ceramic (CIM) furnace
**3 Debind ovens (2 CM + 1 Elnik)
-Coordinate staffing of furnace operators to ensure 24/7 coverage and schedule runs properly stage
parts to minimize any downtime for all equipment between cycles to support production and efficiency
goals of the MIM dept.
-Supervise operations of furnace(s) and all related ancillary equipment, while ensuring all Visual Aids
& Work Instructions are utilized for all programs & operations. Sets testing and production schedules for
debind and sintering. Publish a weekly debind and sintering production schedule for the rest of the
-Ensure accuracy of all program / project information in company ERP system
-Assists Customers and PTIs production, and engineering departments with the development of MIM
products, materials, techniques, and formulations.
-Interface with Quality Control and perform quality tracking of green and sintered parts. Keeping an
accurate inventory of WIP and finished goods in compliance with ISO 9000 / AS 9100 and PTI Quality
-Ensure the safe storage of product prior to and after sintering.
-Perform basic metallurgical tasks (polishing, Carbon analysis, metallography, etc.)
-Compiling and distributing daily / weekly reports regarding production fall out, inventory quantities,
-Coordinates with and assists the Maintenance department in the proper PM (Preventative
Maintenance) and repairs of all debind, sintering and related equipment.
-Ordering equipment as needed to support sintering functions
-Assist in tooling / setter design and construction.
-Program / Project Management of MIM programs including secondary and finishing stages (internal
operations and outside vendors). Reports regularly on progress of assigned programs.
Interface with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, Toolroom, and Molding departments.
-Coordinate with Vendors (material processing recommendations, schedules, deliveries, costs, etc.)
-Ensure departmental compliance with PTI Internal Quality systems and AS9100 / ISO 9000:2000


-Bachelors Degree preferred
-Minimum 2 years experience in Metal Injection Molding (Debind and Sintering)
-Strong organizational skills
-Problem solving ability
-Intra and inter-department communication
-Miscellaneous / Special projects as required.
