Manufacturing Supervisor-Mold KY Open (J#26690)

The Manufacturing Supervisor Molding is responsible for the supervision and technical expertise in injection molding of plastic parts and administration of a departmental shift.

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the following major tasks:

Direct, monitor, and evaluate shift associates, as well as new and promoted employees.
Assure proper training of all hourly employees, including proper training in safe operation of machines.
Assure compliance and enforce all applicable rules and regulations.
Plan, coordinate, and regulate work flow throughout department in accordance with Summits Lean Manufacturing System (SLMS).
Adjust, calibrate, and monitor machines to assure product control.
Collaborate with other departments as necessary to assure quality, productivity, and inspection procedures meet departmental, shift, and company requirements.
Maintain and update departmental records
Set, troubleshoot, and adjust molds
Sample and analyze products from prototype and new production molds and products from repaired molds to assure conformance with quality standards and product specifications
Recommend modifications to procedures to assure proper mold performance.
Complete machine set-ups and changes to insure that product meets design intent and customer specifications
Comply with environmental health and safety system.
Use Root Cause problem solving techniques to bring resolution to quality problems and prevent repeat quality issues.


A demonstrated track record of hands on leadership with successively more responsibility being acquired.
Strong technical background in plastic injection molding and supervision.
Experience in a Lean Manufacturing system is a plus.
Possess the ability to train others for routine positions.
Possess the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
