Manufacturing Manager NC Open (J#25793)
Experience: 4 - 9 years

- Supply positive leadership to the Tool Shop department by motivating, instructing and assisting
employees to achieve optimum and safe productivity while developing advanced skills.
- Evaluate and develop personnel through classes, in-house training, and reviews.
- Interview, select, and train personnel for departmental staffing needs.
- Support production on tooling related problems in a timely fashion.
- Implement procedures and work instructions to support the companys quality system.
- Evaluate, maintain and request equipment for the tool room.
- Identify problems and recommend improvements to tooling to Engineering.
- Coordinate any outside processing of tooling.
- Establish and enforce operating procedures and work standards that will ensure adequate
performance and personnel safety
- Order supplies and maintain perishable tooling inventory
- Engage in the design of new tooling with Engineering
- Analyze tooling problems and provide technical support.
- Implement problem solving solutions as assigned
- Responsible for planning and managing work schedules for shops and associates.
- Achieve the timely completion of projects by prioritizing and assigning duties based on workloads,
resources and project timelines.
- Utilize knowledge of design and materials to provide technical input for optimum results in
performance of equipment and machinery.
- Maintain professionalism and stay abreast of new technology and developments through
professional organizations, publications, vendors and trade shows.
- Maintain accurate recordkeeping

- Minimum 5 years Tool Room experience within a plastic injection molding tool building environment
- Previous experience as a Journeyman Toolmaker or Engineer
- Experience with EDM, CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and machining fixtures
- Excellent verbal and written communication, strong organizational and problem solving skills.
- Ability to analyze and work from blueprints and customer drawings.
- Experience with injection molds of single and multi-cavity tools with or without hot runner systems.
- Familiar with the use of measurement equipment such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, height
gages, etc.
- Computer literate with ability to work in Microsoft Excel programs
- Ability to work within deadlines and understand milestones and bottlenecks.
- Preferred Skills/Background
- Knowledge of CAD a plus in addition to JobBOSS or similar Shop Management Software system
- Experience in administrating an apprenticeship program
