Manufacturing Engineer SC Open (J#27766)

Senior Manufacturing Engineer sought to perform general engineering tasks that optimize processing capabilities of the
facility through process development
and verification and utilizing engineering methods and techniques.

Performs Mold Process development using scientific approach, aiming at optimum process, also meeting quality and
productivity specifications.
Develop, implement, and document procedures designed to facilitate the determination and reporting of process
parameters throughout the setup phase of production scheduling to assure process reliability.
Develop and establish manufacturing process parameters on existing molds utilizing established and innovative
techniques such as mold balance analysis, gate freeze study, and relative viscosity study, ensuring stable and repeatable
processes. Full documentation and control of process information to meet ISO STDs
Provides direction to supervisors and quality personnel to assist in mold maintenance, repair and cleaning as needed,
while maintaining a relationship of trust, confidence and support.
Create positive customer relationships through results of sampling, and solutions to production problems.
Successfully establishes, utilizes, and optimizes CIM, serving as the key player in translating the technical process results
into the CIM system. Train site personnel in proper use of CIM. Uses CIM and other systems to assure process quality
and determine special cause events.
Recommends designs for special equipment and assists production with product and process research and development
Maintains and instructs on the proper maintenance and use of product specific equipment such as robots, welders, etc.
Evaluate plastic processing and support equipment for productivity/quality improvement and/or cost reduction.
Works with the production supervisors while maintaining a supervisor/employee relationship of trust and confidence.
Maintains updated knowledge on methods, systems and equipment to continuously improve quality and productivity.
Automation integration and design as required to support existing and new equipment/projects.
Creates and maintains accurate documentation on all samples, processes, production items/problems and other
necessary information.
Desired Qualifications:
Four year degree in Engineering or related discipline, preferably from an educational institution specializing in Plastics
Engineering, or equivalent experience (5 years specific processing experience).
Understanding of modern injection molding techniques and processes.
Familiarity with scientific analysis methods such as DOE, SPC, Mold Flow analysis, and FMEA.
Skills to use a systematic approach in solving problems through analysis of problems and evaluation of alternate
solutions; use logic, mathematics, or other problem solving tools in data analysis or in generating solutions.
Skills to operate injection-molding equipment.
