Manufacturing Engineer OH Open (J#27287)
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Position Summary: As a member of a work team, provide Manufacturing Engineering support to Production, Development Engineering, and Product Management to ensure the timely production of quality, cost effective parts and assemblies. Participate in continuous improvement programs.

Essential Functions:

Responsible for all manufacturing engineering matters relating to new product launches including process development, pilot builds, reducing cost, identifying required facility improvements, specification of tooling and equipment, development of required product and process documentation, demonstrating process capability and transitioning products from development to production.

Provides direct support to manufacturing for the design, fabrication, modification, and evaluation of parts, assemblies, components, sub-assemblies, tooling and final products. This position is expected to be the focal point of all production launch activities, from development of the design through stable production.

Provides technical assistance and liaison to Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance and other organizations and assists in implementing new techniques and procedures.

Evaluation of Cost/Benefit analyses for new and improved processes and/or products.

Work with production personnel to gather input for process improvements on the production floor.

Analyzes and recommends product design changes for ease of manufacturing, cost reduction and quality improvements.

Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished-product and process capabilities, establishing standards, confirming manufacturing processes.

Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor and material costs, reviewing production schedules, and estimating future requirements.

Assists production with departmental designs, to optimize layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering required.

Previous Experience in Manufacturing Engineering or Production Engineering, in a manufacturing environment in preferred.

Ability to use CAD software is required. Solid Works is preferred.

Ability to use Engineering Economics analysis for decision making process required.

Experience with injection molding plastics, sheet metal fabrication, and manual-automation assembly preferred.

Lean and Six Sigma experience preferred.

Ability to understand and apply FMEA, Cpk and gage R&R analysis for manufacturing processes preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively with all departments and cross functional teams.
