Manufacturing Engineer IL 52 - 80k (J#26855)
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Position: Manufacturing /Sustaining Engineer (preferably with Injection Molding experience)
Term: Contract to hire (the intention is for it to be a permanent opportunity)
Location: Chicago, IL (northwest side of Chicago)
Rate: $25/hr to $38/hr, up to $80,000/yr when perm(possibly more depending on experience level)

The Manufacturing Engineers primary role is to solve problems and implement solutions that ensure a safe working environment; improve product quality; increase productivity and efficiencies and reduce scrap, rework, process variation and equipment downtime.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Sustaining Engineer/Problem Solver, with a focus on Manufacturing; preferably Injection Molding experience, to play a key role in its continued growth and success. The maintenance mechanic's overall role will be to support manufacturing and other maintenance functions in attaining on-time delivery of quality molded products in a safe and cost efficient manner. To work in factory/manufacturing setting and be able to perform trouble shooting and fixing of factory problems as well to increase operational efficiencies. Creation of work instructions are a major priority.

Essential Duties and responsibilities
Develop, implement and maintain policies, metrics, reports, procedures, processes, work instructions, layouts and forms to ensure product is manufactured in accordance with safety, customer, regulatory and business requirements.
Apply root cause analysis, analytical problem-solving skills and good decision making ability to resolve issues and implement practical solutions.
Utilize Lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement efforts to drive business and manufacturing process improvements.
Participate in capital equipment selection, justification and implementation and the introduction of other new technologies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Visual Management Arrangement and Maintenance
Job Requirements:
Industrial or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred or relevant experience.
Experience as an individual contributor in the manufacturing engineering department of an injection molding company or relevant experience.
Excellent communication skills. Communicates effectively with Teammates at all levels of the organization with good interpersonal and organizational abilities. Competent with Microsoft Office Software.
Strong root cause analysis and analytical problem-solving skills with good decision making ability. Mechanical aptitude. Can lead problem-solving efforts and the implementation of solutions.
Strong sense of urgency and dedication to pursuing operational excellence.
Thorough understanding of Lean manufacturing techniques.
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 or ISO 13485 quality systems.
