CoorsTek currently has an opportunity available for a talented Maintenance Mechanic III. This position will be located in Golden, CO.
Position Summary: Responsible for upkeep of machinery and/or physical plant for the manufacturing facility. Repair and maintain injection molding machines (hydraulic and electric). Repair and maintain axuxilary equipment including chillers, grinders, and dryers. Repair and maintain automation robots and conveyors. Preform preventitive maintenance and calibration on production equipment. Repairs and install machinery & mechanical equipment in accordance with specification using hand tools and power tools, precision & testing instruments. May be responsible for building maintenance.
Maintain machines in optimal processing condition
Will preform repairs, preventitive and corrective maintenance on injection molding equipment and facility
Troubleshoot, locate root problems and repair support equipment.
Assit with the set-up and maintenance of auxiliary equipment, including granulators, conveyors, and chillers.
Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times.
Provides multi-disciplinary expertise in the maintenance, trouble-shooting, calibration, adjustment and repair of a wide variety of complex, interrelated, state of the art process machinery and equipment.
Performs at a highly skilled level in operating power and manual tools to repair machinery and/or facilities in assigned area under minimal supervision, such as the following: drill press and hand drill; band saw; pipe cutter; multi-meters and power and manual hand tools.
Performs checkouts, rework and modifications to bring new equipment or processes on line.
Proficient in the operation of all facility support equipment.
May also design configure and modify complex manufacturing; mechanical; electrical; and, automated control systems for in-service equipment in support of operations.
Works independently in the performance of the following types of mechanical or facility maintenance work: 1) machine diagnostics; 2) machine repair; 3) plumbing/pipefitting, 4) welding, 5) sheet metal, 6) mill-right, and 7) painting.
Diagnosis and repairs, with or without documentation, by analyzing the failure; develops a minimum cost solution; obtains materials; coordinates with the customer; performs the repair in a safe manner; and, documents all work performed.
Installs, repairs and/or rebuilds mechanical equipment to drawings, diagrams and/or minimal verbal instruction.
Defines the tools and time needed to complete assigned jobs based on Maintenance or Equipment Service Requests, or other internal reporting system.
Maintains a high degree of proficiency in the operation of facility and maintenance support equipment.
May be required to use precision instruments such as micrometers, calipers, dial and test indicators.
Understands and meets or exceeds quality standards for maintenance of machines and/or facilities. Identifies and leads continuous improvement efforts. Recommends and implements new ideas.
Follows approved electronic work instructions; follows established department procedures, which may be found in electronic or paper form. Finds and references work instructions when asked.
May be required to perform some machine preventative maintenance functions, i.e. changing coolants, lubricants, filters, etc.
May use the manufacturing computer system for departmental functions, such as entering Maintenance or Equipment Service Requests; tracking jobs completed and parts used; and time spent. Prepares reports and graphs as required. Reports any discrepancies to lead or supervisor.
Willingly accepts responsibility of sharing skills and knowledge with other employees. Trains other employees as required.
May be required to interpret control charts and capability studies within Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Maintains good attendance and punctuality and an acceptable level of performance.
Must maintain a valid fork lift and driver license.
May be required to carry pager or cellular phone for on-call assignments.
Possess the ability to use the computer system for basic departmental functions
Knows and follows all safety requirements, including emergency evacuation; strives to maintain a safe work environment and reports potential hazards to lead or supervisor. All employees will be responsible for knowing where non-hazardous waste collection containers are located and for putting non-hazardous wastes in appropriate containers.
Must successfully complete EHS specific training; i.e. LOTO/Fall Protection/Confined Space.
Maintains an acceptable level of performance by following established policies and procedures, and participating in continuous improvement efforts by supporting and implementing new ideas.

Education, Training, and Skill Recommendations/Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent manufacturing maintenance experience of 5+ years.
Required to have and maintain a LME License; Limited Maintenance Electrical. (Oregon Only)
Must be able to perform difficult math skills, using fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, division.
Knowledge of the use and application of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Must meet all training requirements as defined by department
