We are currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Technician for our plant in Fairfield, CA. This individual will be responsible for the safe maintenance, repair or replacement of plant equipment and systems to assure optimal production quantity and quality. The ideal candidate will be self motivated, creative, have a positive attitude, and possess strong leadership, organizational and communication skills. A demonstrated commitment to safety and quality, and capabilities to work in a 24/7 environment are essential.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
Associates degree from two-year college in a related technical field or certificate or diploma from trade school in related field and five years experience in the maintenance of a plastics injection molding manufacturing facility or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skilled and experienced with troubleshooting, repairs and maintenance of large scale production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulics systems.
Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g., word processing, e-mail, and spreadsheets.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with Computerized Maintenance Management System and other relevant systems, and to instruct others on its operation.
Able to read and interpret mechanical and hydraulic drawings, electrical schematics, and possess an above average understanding of electronic and PLC control systems.
Experienced with application of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
Knowledge of plastics injection molding a plus.
To qualify for this position, candidates must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds in a safe manner. In addition, this position requires the ability to climb ladders and to work in confined and/or high spaces. While performing the duties of this job, you would be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts, hot or humid conditions, high noise situations, and to petroleum based lubricating products. In addition, you may be exposed to outdoor weather conditions and chemicals used in plastics processing.
