Machine Operator OH Open (J#27285)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Technical Skill Requirements
Knowledge of Injection molding. Two to six years demonstrated experience preferred.
Forklift certification.

Job Responsibilities
Wears all required personal protective equipment and follows all equipment and plant safety guidelines.
Maintains housekeeping and sanitation requirements; keeping within 5S standards.
Follows all safety requirements. Reports any observed safety violations to Cell Manager.
Assists in the Operation of assigned machine(s) in accordance with all safety, production, and maintenance directives/instructions.
Inspects, receives, and uses raw materials, i.e. packaging, resin, regrind, colorant, etc.
Completes final container audits prior to shipment.
Performs all necessary actions related to: retains, samples, quality inspections, etc.
Notifies Cell Manager and Quality Auditor of defect issues found during product inspections.
Records and maintains documentation in accordance with established procedures and directives.
Understands when and how to conduct emergency equipment shutdown procedures.
Observes/listens to equipment in operation---identifies potential problems to appropriate technician/manager.
Reacts to cycle interruptions. Conducts the removal of defective parts, as required, and re-starts equipment.
Completes equipment adjustments, as required/directed.
Receives, inspects and unloads raw material, i.e. resin, colorant, PCR, etc. as required.
Completes equipment startups & shutdowns equipment in accordance with established procedures.
Conducts cold starts on equipment / presses.
Conducts Smart Starts.
Conducts mold cleans with the cold jet.
Reads and understands SPC.
Competent in the Encon Color Program. Can complete set-up, start-up and changeovers with color additives.
Works as a team player to ensure the success of the shift.
Other duties as assigned.

The physical requirements of this position include the ability to lift, carry, push/pull, climb, kneel/crawl, bend/stoop, crouch, twist, handle/grasp and reach. Normal to correctable vision is required and safety eyewear must be worn. Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors. Work is performed indoors within an open manufacturing environment. The worker may perform work on or around moving equipment. The worker is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is loud and requires hearing protection.
