Lead Operator-Plastics IL Open (J#26551)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

General Description: 2nd Shift (1:30-10:00pm), 3rd Shift (9:30pm-6:00am) or 12Hour Shift 5:00 p.m.-5:00 a.m. - Lead Operators coordinate personnel and activities in an injection molding and assembly manufacturing team environment. Responsibilities include overseeing the day-to-day operation of his/her assigned machines, producing the manufactured product that meets or exceeds the established quality levels at the standard rates that have been established. The Lead Operator is also responsible for training of new Operators & Assemblers, as well as temporary help.

- Meets with the previous shift Lead Operators, Shift Supervisors and quality personnel to discuss any and all issues relating to the shop floor.
- Plans the daily activities of the Operators/Assemblers and temps on their shift. This includes scheduling the operators to their machines or assembly stations.
- Fill out production reports and enter in all production related data into computer system.
- Assist in troubleshooting assembly issues to maintain part quality and meet standard production rates.
- Train operators to ensure the part quality is understood, standard productions rates are maintained, and to ensure that ONLY product that meets or exceeds quality criteria is packaged.
- Follow all departmental operational procedures relating to the set-up, operation, and shut down of jobs.
- Assists in the creation of work instructions for existing jobs as well as new jobs.
- Perform special duties and or projects as assigned.

Good verbal and written communication skills.
