This is a tremendous career opportunity for an experienced General Manager to lead plant operations located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky. This 110,000 sq. ft. plant has 325 employees and 29 molding machines (125-1500 ton) producing sales up to 60 million. All presses run auto cycle, with Wittman Robots and End of Arm tooling to degate and place parts in containers. We have quick mold changes with magnetic clamp plates and side load systems 300T and smaller. Primary production parts are registers and consoles supplying Ford and Calsonic. Processes at this plant include injection molding, assembly, paint, and hot plate welding. SPIs Elizabethtown Plant is staffed by about 325 employees including a salaried staff of 55 which includes an experienced, dedicated and high energy management team. This person will direct, administer and coordinate the activities of the plant, including Manufacturing (injection molding, painting, and assembly), Quality, Materials, Human Resources, Maintenance and Engineering. We are looking for a hands-on GM with extensive experience in our products and processes, who is accustomed to meeting the stringent quality demands of the automotive industry. Candidate must be dedicated to such lean manufacturing systems as Kanban, JIT, Heijunka, and Poke Yoke. Position reports directly to a Regional Director of Manufacturing and will be on the plant floor overseeing and improving the production methods of molding, assembly, and secondary decorative processes to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.

The successful candidate will have the leadership skills, experience and in-depth knowledge to insure that Summits procedures and policies are effectively practiced and documented. Minimum of 5 years experience at a technical or management level including working knowledge of injection molding, assembly and painting processes, budgeting and costing, quality control procedures and human resource management plus a 4 year degree or total equivalent relevant experience.
