SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision provides highly complex mechanical and technical duties in support of assembly, manufacturing, and/or injection molding equipment. This includes assisting the installation of machinery and troubleshooting of scientific injection molding processing operations and automation equipment in the manufacture of components into FDA regulated syringes. This is a high-speed Focus Factory and a controlled manufacturing environment (CME). Assists with capturing and documentation of operating procedures and work instructions with the focus on safety, quality, and continued productivity. Works independently to complete minor projects to support manufacturing, improve quality, and/or reduce costs. The ability to write and conduct equipment and process validations per site, corporate, and FDA guidelines.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Performs complete job set-ups from mold, robot, process, and start-up of equipment to finished goods.
2.Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical or pneumatic faults on manufacturing assembly and/or mold equipment.
3.Observes the machine cell condition for any signs of wear or problems including leaks, wear, excessive motion and noise. Performs or recommends repairs as needed.
4.Learns to follow proper maintenance procedures for various assembly/molding equipment; this includes the proper start-up, shut-down, calibration, and purge procedures.
5.Optimization of manufacturing processes.
6.Assists with capital, tooling, and/or automation equipment projects as needed.
7.Validation of production equipment and injection molding tools in order to comply with FDA regulations (i.e. IQ, OQ, PQ).
8.Ability to perform Hands On technical work such as minor machine building/enhancement, operate production equipment, and modify existing proprietary production equipment.
9. Other responsibilities may be assigned from time to time as needed, based on the evolution of the company, and the requirements of the department/position.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Education Required/Preferred:

High School Diploma or GED required

AAS in Technical Field preferred

Experience:
3 to 10 years manufacturing experience. Injection molding, Automation, Equipment Integration, IQ, OQ, PQ validations.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
PLC programming, minor machine building / enhancement. Ability to read drawings and blueprints, follow work instructions, and read measurement instruments. Basic math skills

Skills/Competencies:
Good written and verbal communication. Ability to handle multiple tasks, and changing priorities, as required to support daily production and short term project goals.

Organizational Relationships/Scope:

Frequent contact with: Management Staff, Production Department, Finance Department, Quality Assurance Department, Human Resource Department, and Materials Management Department.

Working Conditions:

1. The working conditions for this position are typical of an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet and free of fumes and airborne particulate.

2. This position will also be required to attend to issues on the manufacturing floor. When entering the manufacturing facility safety glasses and hearing protection are required.
