Engineering Manager TX Open (J#27540)
Education: Bachelors Degree
Experience: 10 - 20 years

NN, Inc., parent company, is an independent global manufacturer offering a comprehensive product line of high-quality precision bearing components, industrial plastic and rubber products and precision metal components to a variety of markets, including the automotive industry, original equipment manufacturers, HVAC, heavy equipment and many other markets.

This position offers an exciting opportunity in Lubbock, Texas, for a candidate to perform complex analytical and hands on work providing engineering support for potential and new customer project ensuring technical competence and compliance with all current codes, requirements and criteria. SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MAY QUALIFY FOR RELOCATION.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
-Provides leadership for associate relations through effective communications, coaching, training and development. Supervises individual team members.
-Manages overall responsibility for prioritizing, planning, executes operational plan to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the mechanical engineering department.
-Monitors the progress of projects and implements corrective actions as needed to recover from unplanned setbacks.
-Plan, schedule and implement new equipment projects.
-Supports all potential and new customers.
-Ensures compliance with OSHA as well as the organization standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety, on-time delivery.
-Review sales contracts to ensure proper alignment with business objectives.
-Directs the Program Management function within Precision Plastic Products (IMC) to develop potential business, then plan and manage secured contracts from award into production launch.
-Lead the in-depth understanding of customer product design and function for the purpose of optimal production process design as well as risk-minimized product disposition decisions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in mechanical, or industrial, or civil, engineering from a four-year college or university or equivalent related experience and a minimum of 12 years progressive experience in manufacturing engineering which includes quality system experience. Thorough knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, practices and methods. Experience with related materials and processes in a high precision and high volume environment. Management experience required. TS quality system or equivalent experience.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
-Automotive and/or Automotive Tier experience is a plus.
-Detailed knowledge of all aspects of manufacturing machine design and work station design.
-In depth knowledge of precision components and assemblies industry.
-Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
-Detailed knowledge of all elements of, Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
-Excellent project and program management skills
-Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts
-Computer proficient. Strong CAD proficiency
-TS experience quality system or equivalent
-Strong SPC knowledge and application
