FUNCTION

Rapidly growing company with 8 manufacturing locations and over 4,000 employees is searching for an Engineering Manager

Responsibilities:

Reports to the Business Unit Leader and has a support responsibility to all functional directors and managers.

Provides leadership to ensure that engineering is effective in achieving measurable safety initiatives. This includes improving safety systems, eliminating the causes of accidents, and holding everyone accountable for their contributions to safety.

Leads, directs, and coordinates all project and process engineering functions to ensure the introduction of new equipment and systems that meet or exceed cost, quality, consumer, customer, safety, and security requirements.

Develops and implements quality improvement and cost reduction programs to ensure continuous improvement in key metrics.

Initiates and develops process improvements to improve product design, quality and reduce costs.

Manages the introduction of new products/process improvements as they relate to equipment and facilities.

Develops selection criteria for new equipment, works with major machinery and engineering suppliers to obtain latest technologies.

Ensures that engineering is meeting or exceeding compliance requirements and ensures compliance.

Responsible for departmental budgets and approvals.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors degree in Engineering.

Minimum of 5 years experience in process/project management roles.

Experience with manufacturing processes, preferably in either printing or blown film extrusion or both.

Experience with costing preferred or MBA education background.

Standard knowledge of quality and process improvement tools and techniques such as SPC/SQC, Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and Six Sigma.

Excellent technical aptitude.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills, capable to work with all levels.

Advanced negotiating skills for equipment procurement.

Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.

Ability to lead and mentor others.

Ability to structure engineering to handle the current and future needs of the company
