FUNCTION

Well established company involved in plastics and polymers extrusion is searching for a Director of Maintenance.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Responsible for all machines, machine maintenance, building maintenance
Lead, manage and day-to-day development of maintenance team
Develop and maintain a preventive maintenance program
Schedule and direct coverage of maintenance personnel; monitor department overtime
Maintain all operational equipment and facility infrastructure
Facilitate process set-up and start-up as needed
Oversee and perform as needed tool and die maintenance and mold changes
Prepare all down line equipment and dies for next run
Safety program development and adherence
OSHA compliance and recordkeeping
Collaborate with others on capital equipment features and new mold designs
Collaborate with other functional departments in the scheduling of down time and PM repairs
Establish and maintain written maintenance procedures
Supervision and training of Maintenance Technicians
Manage department budget and work orders
Negotiate costs and plan for any necessary contract work for the facility
Purchase of repair parts and supplies to maintain production functionality
Participate in regular production meetings and daily safety meeting
Manage accuracy and completion of CMMS (Maintenance Software)
Solution Leader and R&D
Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 5 years in maintenance department of an extrusion plant
Ability to effectively troubleshoot and diagnose equipment issues during production operation
Previous supervisory experience or personal willingness to become a Supervisor
Ability to work around heavy machinery
Strong electrical knowledge and experience
Strong mechanical knowledge and experience
Skilled in hydraulics and pneumatics
Changeover and set-up experience
OSHA training and understanding
Strong organizational and have good communication skills by following and understanding directions; ask questions to ensure full comprehension and effective communication (verbal and written) of problems, issues and concerns
Demonstrate a strong technical and mechanical aptitude
Must be able to work on multiple tasks at the same time and manage ones time productively
Must be able to make adjustments or repair equipment in a timely manner; try new solutions and take risks
Must demonstrate a strong sense of urgency, drive and rapidly adjust priorities when needed
Must become competent on operations of all machinery on each production line
Manufacturing experience
Previous management experience in a production setting required
Must be reliable and have the willingness to learn
Willing to work within week-ends
Willing to work within where needed in a 24/7/365 manufacturing operation
Technically sound and hands-on in troubleshooting: profile extrusion
Experience with PMs (Preventative Maintenance Programs)
Ability to read blue prints; electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
Strong written, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
Ability to prioritize workload and balance administrative duties with time spent on the floor
Detailed and results oriented
Knowledge and application of OSHA regulations
Experience with CMMS software; computer savvy
