Assembly Process Tech AL Open (J#27243)
Education: Associates Degree
Experience: 1 - 3 years

Assure assembly lines run to quality standards and meet all production goals.

Assure all safety and housekeeping procedures are followed.

Report all quality and scrap issues to appropriate Supervisor / Manager as soon as possible.

Ensure all process equipment and work areas are clean and free from safety hazards.

Ensure that all process equipment is operational and functioning properly at start of shift.

Contact Maintenance for applicable equipment issues / non-conformances.

Maintain all process equipment per startup and shutdown procedures, ODS, checklists and PMs as
required.

Monitor product quality and process control parameters per operating instructions and control plans -
make adjustments and document as required.

Ensure all records (weight checks, viscosity checks, foam density checks, process adjustments, etc.) per
product control plan are up to date and accurate.

Make provisions to ensure that all PMs on process equipment are completed in a timely manner - initiate
corrective action for any shortcomings.

Waste handling of process waste as required.

Ensure proper disposal of chemical waste material as per documented environmental waste
management procedures.

Ensure bulk chemical storage areas remain clean and organized and all waste material is segregated
and any spills or clean-up efforts are immediately reported to the EMS representative.

Assist in developing control plans & PFMEAs for all new programs.

Coordinate team and assist during production line changes including hard tool changes, process
parameter changes, and material change over.

Assist Supervisor in daily production coordination as required.

Mentor team members in first level process troubleshooting per product control plans/PFMEAs,
startup/shutdown procedures, ODSs, checklists and PMs as required.

Facilitate communication between other Technicians regarding process improvements and
troubleshooting activities.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

University degree and 1 year minimum experience, or 2 year degree and 6 years minimum experience, or
equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience or knowledge with processing urethane foam systems including cup shots, foam quality
verification, troubleshooting, PM on pour heads & pump systems.

Experience or knowledge of Fanuc robot operation or general robot programming - including experience
in router trimming, paint application, assembly, etc.

Experience or knowledge of vibration welding, vac wrap, general assembly and mechanical systems.

Demonstrated examples of monitoring a process and adjusting as necessary to maintain a specific
product quality.

Willingness to work required hours overtime, weekend work and early morning startups is likely.

Ability to identify mechanical or electrical problems.

Demonstrated ability to determine root cause and implement actions to correct them.

Self-motivated in diagnosing and solving problems to improve efficiency.

Experience with basic safety processes and how to work safely around automated equipment.

Experience and understanding of automotive quality requirements for interior products would be very
helpful.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Strong analytical skills.

Ability to troubleshoot product quality/process issues, interpret data and problem solve.

Basic computer skills with general understanding of software programs (Windows, Micro Soft Word, Micro
Soft Excel, etc.).

Six Sigma Green Belt Training and or Kepner Trego Training a plusOther training as defined on the
Classification Training Matrix.
